CHIC IN THE HEAT
Summer style is all about looking chic while staying cool! And here in San Antonio we sure know heat, as well as how to pursue fashion. I love the longer days and sun-kissed skin and have spent this summer combating heat with layered outfits that comfortably transition from AC buildings to midsummer outdoors. I have always adored blazers not only because they come in so many cute prints and patterns but because they are an amazing style staple that gives you the freedom to dress an outfit up or down.
The first look I put together is a posh London inspired combination of a bold blazer with a classic white blouse. I paired this number with my favorite textured stilettos for added sass that can go from work to happy hour in a flash. This outfit gives you the option to remove the added layer and reveal whatever cute blouse you have tucked underneath or catch a late dinner without looking like you walked out of a long day in the office. Adding a statement blazer is a fun way to add pizzazz to any classic work look without going overboard. I wore this when I stopped by the Alamo Heights Portfolio Real Estate office and found the aesthetics there breathtaking. The entire office is open and filled with natural light that gives it an air of elegance. The staff was so friendly and allowed me to shoot my first look in one of their conference rooms! I was lucky enough to have my mom visiting from out of town during the photoshoot so she jumped in a few shots looking classic in her purple vintage inspired dress. Not only do I love the paisley print and cool color palette but that I get to borrow it next time I visit her!!!
My second look is another you can dash off to a social function in after work without needing to update your outfit. Once again I opted for a lightweight statement blazer. I added a spectrum of blue from accessories to a speckled tank that can easily be interchanged with any color you like. I threw on my new favorite Secret Garden bracelet that is whimsical and matched the gold details on my turquoise necklace. So whether you are having lunch at SoLuna or meeting up for happy hour, this day-to-evening attire serves well before 5 and after.
But when you are ready to switch up your blazer routine, I typically opt for something flowy and colorful that embraces the carefree summer season. Last week I escaped the downtown area for some Boerne charm and found myself sipping a delicious tea latte and shopping around The Dienger Trading Co.'s adorable boutique!!! This striped two piece is super easy to accessorize. I styled it with a traditional fedora and colorful clutch but I can also see it tied together with a solid headband and small cross-body bag. Whatever your personal summer preferences are, all of these outfits are easy to tailor with colors and accessories.
