Bexar Couture
Crisp autumn mornings, oversized sweaters and pumpkin spiced everything just to name a few ways to cherish the beginning of fall. The summer's heat has finally begun to melt away in the Hill Country and fall transition fashion is welcomed with open arms by women city-wide. This year in fashion continues to offer darling trends which make a seamless transformation into fall. In celebration of the weather cooling down, I decided to showcase a few San Antonio boutiques and share my favorite finds. I started my shopping at Camilla Crown, which is an ultra-chic boutique located off 1604. The store is crisp and colorful; filled with elegant and unique pieces that speak for themselves. Not only did I find this white lacey blouse I couldn’t leave without, but I was mesmerized by the myriad of gemstones and dainty pendants adorning the counters. The store is one-of-a-kind in every way, from local purses to trendy blouses and eye-catching jewel accessories.
After Camilla Crown, I headed to the Quarry for a quick bite and to peruse the new arrivals at Hemline. The warmest staff and walls adorned in fall style greeted me. While I am a frequent customer at the store, I manage to always find new pieces to add to my closet. Here, I grabbed several neutral colored blouses but my favorite was this pocketed tunic dress. It is the perfect piece to wear all-day; breathable fabric and a lovely storm grey color. It gave me nostalgic feelings of classic country style with a modern and simple fit and color. I tied it together with my axis print tote that I thought was more than fitting for a flash of fall and some layered accessories from Melrie. Once the weather cools off, I will definitely add leggings and blanket scarves to give it more of a cozy look.
My final destination was to the one and only Dienger Trading Co., as you know it's one of my all-time favorite stops. I always start my shopping in the store by grabbing a warm latte to sip on while I meander through the store. They have some irresistible pieces to layer which is exactly how I ended up with this beautiful Jacquard jacket. The jacket is mainly black and white with hues of amethyst that somehow goes with everything. I paired it here with one of my favorite summer blouses and ripped jeans to easily adjust to the fluctuating weather during the day. This piece is chic and the perfect layer to wear to class or a meeting in the evening when you don't want to be completely bundled up. Not only does this jacket pair easily with my summer and fall blouses but it steps away from mainstream style which can be so much fun. Now I am just keeping my eye out for a felt hat to pair with it!
I hope my first fall looks will inspire you to explore some local shops and enjoy the scenic backdrops the city has to offer. If you are looking for current trends but want to get away from generic brands then I cannot recommend these boutiques enough.
Cheers to the season and finding local gems,
